Université Laval

David Litalien is an assistant professor at the Education Faculty at Laval University since 2016. He holds a Master and Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and completed a postdoctoral fellowship of nearly two years at the Institute for Positive Psychology and Education in Sydney, Australia.

In general, his research interests focus on motivation and academic success and on the social contexts that facilitate them. He is also interested in the contribution of advanced statistical methods centred on the person and on the variables in the representation of motivational constructs (Litalien, Morin, & McInerney, 2017; Litalien et al., 2017).

His doctoral research focused on perseverance in doctoral studies, in which more than 1,500 doctoral students, graduates and non-perseverants, participated (see Litalien & Guay, 2015 and Litalien, Guay, & Morin, 2015). Professor Litalien is also a regular member of the Research Unit on Children’s Psychological Maladjustment (GRIP).
